Sparta Lavender Farm is an agritourism destination located 30 km south of London and 15 km northeast of Port Stanley. The farm features over 10,000 lavender plants and a variety of cultivars across its parterre garden, demonstration garden, and lavender field. In addition to lavender, visitors can find beautiful wildflowers, butterfly gardens, and sunflowers.
Guests are encouraged to stroll among the lavender flowers, take in the diverse blooms, and observe the busy pollinators at work. With a commitment to education and a vision to become a botanical garden, the farm labels its plants and trees with species information. Its gardens are certified wildlife-friendly, agricultural practices are chemical-free, and efforts continue to expand natural, native gardens to support pollinators.
Throughout the season, Sparta Lavender Farm offers educational tours and classes ranging from art to yoga. Local vendor markets, featuring live music and food trucks, are also hosted on-site. Visitors can pre-book a charcuterie picnic to enjoy in the gardens, best complemented by the farm’s signature lavender vanilla bean ice cream.
During harvest, demonstrations showcase the steam distillation process used to produce essential oils. Fresh and dried lavender bouquets are available in the farm’s gift shop, along with a selection of natural lavender products, all handmade on-site. These organic products are sustainably packaged in glass bottles and containers.
The farm strives to create a beautiful, natural environment where visitors can relax and connect with nature. Additionally, it aims to educate guests on the significance of the plants it cultivates, the wildlife it supports, and their vital roles within the ecosystem.
