Paul Marinaro is a highly acclaimed jazz vocalist based in Chicago, praised for his exceptional vocal talent and modern interpretations of classic jazz material. He has established himself as one of the top male jazz singers today, earning numerous accolades for his performances, including at major venues such as the Chicago Jazz Festival, Birdland Jazz Club in NYC, and international stages across Europe and Canada. Marinaro's debut album, Without a Song, which was inspired by his father’s dream of becoming a professional singer, received widespread acclaim and led to further critical success with his live album One Night in Chicago and subsequent performances with jazz legends like Sheila Jordan. In recent years, Marinaro has continued to expand his artistic reach, releasing his sophomore album Not Quite Yet in 2022, which showcased a more personal and introspective side of his music, shaped by the global pandemic. He also collaborated with the Metropolitan Jazz Octet on The Bowie Project, a tribute to David Bowie's songwriting legacy, which received rave reviews for its inventive arrangements and Marinaro’s compelling vocals. As he continues to tour and perform, Marinaro remains a beloved figure in the jazz world, connecting with audiences worldwide through his heartfelt and dynamic performances.
Leaving Dublin, Ireland where he was born and raised until the age of 22, David got drunk on travel and never quite hit sobriety of it. He has lived and worked in twelve countries and visited over seventy. His shows draw on his wide travels, cultural observations, attempts at language study, (occasional) international drinking session(s) and being a mildly confused immigrant.
