    Set in contemporary Madrid, an aging filmmaker named Miguel Garay is called upon to recount his memories of working on his final and still unfinished film, "The Farewell Gaze." During its production, the lead actor and Miguel's close friend, Julio Arenas, disappeared without a trace, leaving in his wake a mystery that would haunt the lives of everyone associated with the film. Miguel never directed another project, instead living a quiet life as a writer by the coast. He remained reluctant to unravel the mystery surrounding Julio until approached by an investigative television program reviving the case decades later. With careful reflection, he reconnects with the film's crew, former lovers, and Julio's daughter, seeking closure for the disappearance and what it meant for all of their lives.

Works include Le Grand Tango by Astor Piazzolla, Métis composer and Western grad T. Patrick Carrabré’s Red River, sonata for cello and piano, and Samuel Barber’s epic Sonata for cello and piano.     London Multi-Vendor Expo

    London multi-vendor expo is coming to Centennial Hall on November 17th, 2024, from 10 AM to 3 PM. Come, shop, and enjoy over 100 tables of terrific finds and services provided by the vendors for you to purchase and enjoy. We have everything from crafts, toys, woodworking, metal works, food, services, jewelry, stationary, comics, collectibles, and so much more. We will also have two food trucks to meet all your hot food needs, along with a local charity in attendance accepting cash donations to support their cause. Free admission and free parking!     The boys from Spittin' Chiclets are heading to London, Ontario, from September 19th for the Chiclets Cup, and they're kicking things off in the biggest way possible. Join on Thursday night, September 19th at Centennial Hall for a live Hot Stove event that's going to set the stage for the tournament's biggest rivalries. Biz, Whit and some special guests will be on stage telling stories and calling certain players out. Who knows, you might even find yourself up on stage with the crew!

    Guest Artists Concert: cello and fiddle duo HAAS

    Join at the Don Wright Faculty of Music, Western University for HAAS, a string duo composed of sisters Natalie (cello) and Brittany (fiddle). The began their musical lives filling their childhood home with Bach suites and old-time tunes alike. It was on their own, however-following divergent paths through disparate musical traditions, countries, and cultures-that they both arrived as virtuosi and composers at the highest levels of contemporary string music. They welcome you to join for a musical journey encompassing travels through time with representation from Nashville to Norway, the Celtic Isles to California.

    The Don Wright Faculty of Music at Western University invites to experience Tafelmusik Baroque Orchestra musicians Patricia Ahern, violin, and Keiran Campbell, cello, as they return to Western and take the stage with Early Music Studio faculty members Joseph Lanza, violin, and Borys Medicky, keyboard for a concert of baroque works.

    Juno winner James Campbell has been called “Canada’s pre-eminent clarinetist and wind soloist, by the Toronto Star, “Canada’s premiere clarinetist” by the Ottawa Citizen, “a national treasure” by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation and “one of the top half-dozen clarinetists in the world today” by Fanfare Magazine. Soprano Leslie Fagan has performed on the world’s most prominent stages, including Royal Albert Hall, Carnegie Hall, and the Lincoln Center, and with leading conductors. Canadian pianist Angela Park has been praised for her “stunningly beautiful pianism” (Grace Welsh Prize, Chicago), “beautiful tone and sensitivity” (American Record Guide), and for performing “with such brilliant clarity it took your breath away” (Chapala, Mexico).

    Great Lakes Swimmers - In Pieces Tour

    Great Lake Swimmers, an indie-folk group led by Tony Dekker, have spent over two decades creating atmospheric and homespun folk music. Based in Toronto, the band is known for recording in acoustically unique rural locales, which gives their sound a distinct pastoral warmth. Their latest album, Uncertain Country, released in 2023, reflects on themes of uncertainty, new beginnings, and the fluidity of time, capturing the sense of confusion and anxiety in the modern world. The band's evolving lineup and Dekker's thoughtful lyrics have earned them critical acclaim, including nominations for the Polaris Music Prize and Juno Awards, and praise for their ability to convey the beauty and complexity of the Canadian landscape.
