Just Launched: New "Spark" Program to Boost Music Tourism in London, OntarioDo you have a creative idea that could launch a new music tourism initiative in London? The London UNESCO City of Music "Spark" Mentorship & Grants Program encourages entrepreneurs, small businesses, non-profits and community groups to present creative ideas for new music tourism offerings and collaborations. Selected applicants will receive $5,000 in seed funding and a 3-month mentorship to bring their idea to life. Applications are being accepted online from September 10 to October 10, 2024. Following a juried review process, top applicants will be invited to a Finalists’ Pitch Session where three winners will be selected. There’s also an online information session on Wednesday, September 18 at 11:30 a.m. where you’ll learn more about the program. Register at the link below. The World Beer Awards are the global awards selecting the very best in all the internationally recognized beer styles from across the globe. Anderson Craft Ales Cream Ale faced stiff competition, but after being declared the ‘Country’s Best Cream Ale’ for Canada, the popular beverage went on to beat international entries to be declared ‘World’s Best Cream Ale’. Don’t Forget: Tourism Growth Program in Southern Ontario Intake Closes SoonThe second intake of the Tourism Growth Program in Southern Ontario, which provides funding to businesses and organizations to develop tourism attractions and experiences that will draw people to our country and communities, is closing soon. The deadline to apply is September 17, 2024. Preference is given to small and medium-sized enterprises in this intake and those who have already received funding under the Tourism Growth Program will not be considered for another project. Apply Now: Community Sport & Recreation Infrastructure FundThe Ontario government is now accepting applications for the new Community Sport and Recreation Infrastructure Fund (CSRIF). Announced as part of the 2024 Budget: Building a Better Ontario, the province is investing $200 million through the fund to help communities revitalize existing community sport and recreation infrastructure and build new facilities. Applications are open to municipalities, Indigenous communities, non-profit organizations and (for new builds only) for-profit organizations, through two streams:
