The Don Wright Faculty of Music at Western University invites you to an epic evening of chamber music including Schubert's Death and the Maiden. New Orford String Quartet, consisting of Andrew Wan and Jonathan Crow (violins), Western faculty member Sharon Wei (viola), and Brian Manker (cello) start the evening off with Mozart's unrelentingly dramatic K.421 quartet after which string performance students join in with the New Orford String Quartet for an electric performance of A Letter from the Afterlife by JUNO-winning composer Dinuk Wijeratne. Wijeratne’s work will thematically transition to the final programmed piece of the evening, Schubert's Death and the Maiden String Quartet as he includes recognizable quotes from Schubert’s chamber piece.
All are welcome to attend – No RSVP required. This is a free event and end times are approximate.
